Goals for My Junior Year of College
At the beginning of every school year it is important to set goals for your year and semester. It doesn't matter what they are, as long as you have something in the back of your mind to keep you going! I always think about the goals that I set in the beginning of the semester when I am up late at night studying, or I am just having a bad day. Having goals always keep you motivated! Here are some of my goals that will be in the back of my mind this fall semester:
1. Keep My Grades Up and Improve My GPA
Last semester, my goal was to make the Dean's List at my university and I did it! It was a goal that I had from the first day of the semester, and all throughout finals. I was so proud of myself when I got my Dean's List letter in the mail because I accomplished my goal and all of the hard work and late nights paid off! This semester, it is my goal to keep it up. I really want to stay on the Dean's List and keep my gpa where it is, or improve it if I can. I only want to go up from here, not down! I am a little nervous because my classes are a little harder this semester, but I am determined to do it!
2. Stay Fit
This one is going to be a little harder than it has been in years past. Usually when I am back to school I go to the gym all of the time because it is so close. But now that I am off campus, it is a lot harder to get there. All juniors and seniors at my school live off campus that is around a 20 minute drive. I usually have to plan to go right after class, because otherwise I won't go because I don't want to drive all the way back to campus to go to the gym. I am going to make it my goal this semester to go to the gym after class at least 3 times a week.
3. Make Healthy Meals
Now that I am off campus, I have to make all of my own meals. Some days this is intimidating, but other days it is so much fun because I can try out a bunch of fun recipes from Pinterest! (Speaking of Pinterest you can follow me here!) I do really like to cook, so making all of my own meals isn't a big deal. But since I have control over everything I buy and make, I need to make sure that I am staying healthy! So far I have done a good job at making healthy meals, like veggie and tofu stir fry and baked Mexican stuffed sweet potatoes, but I am sure there will be weeks when I just eat a box of pasta all week or a frozen pizza. I think that as long as it is in moderation I will be okay! When I have been going to the grocery store, I try to write out all of my meals and snacks down, so I know exactly what I am buying before I step inside of the store. This way, my shop time is reduced and I don't end up buying unhealthy things that just look good because they aren't on the list! Sometimes I am at a total loss for what to make, so send me some of your favorite recipes because I need them for some inspiration!
