Hey there!

I'm Aliza, a fashionista, travelista, and lover of anything pink! I am a born and bread New Englander; my home base is in Massachusetts, I summer in Maine, and I just graduated college in Rhode Island. My life (and style!) changed forever when this NE gal took on England in 2018. I loved exploring my London home and every weekend brought a new European adventure. Ever since I’ve been chronically ill with the travel bug and my fashion sense got an urban spin. I just graduated college and I am following my dream by pursuing a career in fashion! Follow my blog to watch me navigate post grad life, see what I am wearing, where I am off to next!

Never Pay Full Price

Never Pay Full Price

Seriously why would you?

As a senior fashion merchandising student, I have learned how much fashion is marked up. It’s crazy! The higher the prices doesn’t always mean higher quality. One thing that I keep in mind when I’m shopping is that prices always come down and sometimes if you want something, it’s worth waiting for.

Here are some of my tips and tricks that you should follow if you never want to pay full price for fashion!

Shop Off Price

When you shop off price you can snag brand name pieces for less. Off price stores are able to purchase excess inventory from designers and because they are want to get these pieces off their hands to make room for new inventory, they sell them at a discount of around 40-60 percent to the off price stores. That means that off price stores can sell to you at a lower price than you would get from designers. A win-win situation if you ask me!

I love shopping at stores like TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Home Goods because I feel like I am getting a great deal with anything that I pick out. When I go with my friends, it almost feels like a scavenger hunt. We split off into different directions and reconvene in the fitting room to show each other and try everything on. I always find so many good things and it’s so exciting!! Not fashion related, but most recently I got my new 2019 planner at TJ Maxx and I love it! The year before, I bought a Lilly Pulitzer planner for around $30. I bought my planner from TJ Maxx for around $13 and like it so much more! You can find anything from beauty to fun snacks and I’m all about it!

Wait For Sales

I’d say, most things go on sale. Patience is a virtue and if you can wait it out for a little bit, you can save a good amount of money. I knew that I NEEDED my favorite leather leggings (All Over Gleam Tight from Athleta), but they were a little expensive and I decided to wait it out. Instead of paying $89, I got them on sale for $66.99! Still slightly expensive, but better than the latter and it is worth it to invest in your leggings. They are my favorite because they are so flattering and comfortable. I love pairing them with sweaters because it is so comfortable, but looks so much more chic than regular leggings and a sweater! My leather leggings were definitely worth the wait!

Shop Factory Stores

HUGE J.Crew Factory girl. I actually think I like J.Crew Factory more than regular J.Crew because it makes me feel good to get a deal. Everything at factory stores in on sale and it is so much fun to go and see all of the deals that you can get. Often at J.Crew Factory they have sales when the clearance rack has an additional percentage off and this is what you need to look out for! You can usually find some great things and sometimes I will even buy pieces that are out of season and save them for the right time. I love having little surprises in my closet when the time comes :) I also love shopping at Gap Factory and other factory outlets that have similar deals as well!

What are your tips for never paying full price?
