Hey there!

I'm Aliza, a fashionista, travelista, and lover of anything pink! I am a born and bread New Englander; my home base is in Massachusetts, I summer in Maine, and I just graduated college in Rhode Island. My life (and style!) changed forever when this NE gal took on England in 2018. I loved exploring my London home and every weekend brought a new European adventure. Ever since I’ve been chronically ill with the travel bug and my fashion sense got an urban spin. I just graduated college and I am following my dream by pursuing a career in fashion! Follow my blog to watch me navigate post grad life, see what I am wearing, where I am off to next!

Returning to the USA and my Gingham Obsession

Returning to the USA and my Gingham Obsession

Studying abroad was a life changing experience. I was forced to leap outside of my comfort zone and I seriously surprised myself everyday with what I was able to accomplish. I will never forget these last four months and all of the places I traveled to and people I met.

England will always have a very special place in my heart, but for now, I am back home in New England. I LOVED study abroad, but the one negative thing was that I couldn't be my normal fashionista self. When I left for my adventure I packed up my one suitcase that had to last me for four months. I packed a bunch of staple pieces, and a few fun ones (I talked about this a lot in this post), but I missed so many of my super fun pieces and by the end of the four months I was SO sick of the same old clothes I had been wearing over and over again all semester.

You might be wondering why I didn't just buy more clothes while I was living in London. Well, I did buy a few new garments, but I couldn't go crazy with shopping for a few reasons. One, London is expensive! Partly because it is a major city (U.S friends think NYC on steroids) and partly because the pounds to dollars conversion rate is terrible!! You might think you're getting a good deal and then you do the conversion and realize you are not! The other reason was that I only had one suitcase with minimal room to bring everything I collected during my time abroad home in. This suitcase also could only weigh 50 pounds... If it was over weight or I ended up buying another suitcase it would be an extra $100 on the airline I was flying!

Needless to say, I was pretty psyched to get back home to the U.S and rediscover all of the clothes I left behind, start shopping at reasonable prices, and get back to fashion blogging!!

Let me break down my outfit for you!

Hi, my name is Aliza and I am a gingham addict.

Gingham is my favorite print for spring and summer! I just gravitate to it so much that sometimes when I'm shopping my whole cart is gingham and I have to tell myself that I would look crazy if I wore all gingham all of the time (lol). My gingham obsession began last summer when I wrote this post

I was super nervous to order from SheIn because I've heard their quality isn't great and that some people order and get things that look totally different from what they expected. But everything on their site is so cute and so cheap, so when I saw that they had a few things available on Amazon, I thought I'd give it a try. It was available for Amazon Prime and if it didn't go well it has free returns.

But it did go well! I was shocked by the quality of this top!! The fabric feels like linen and isn't see through. I sized up because I heard that SheIn runs small and I'm glad that I did because it is flowy and super comfortable. I also love the pop of cuteness in the back with all of the little bows! Make sure that you double knot them though... enough said.

I was so happy to have these jeans waiting for me in my closet. Everyone needs a good go to pair of dark wash jeans, and these do just the trick. During the spring, I find myself wearing jeans and cute tops pretty often! Once it gets a little warmer and summer starts to roll around, I think this top would be so cute with a pair of white jeans too!

I have been a lover of Longchamps for so long! I just got this black one while I was on a trip to Paris (they are cheaper there than in the USA). I had the tan colored one for so long and I used it so often from school to work to normal day to day running around. It was starting to get a little dirty and not so great looking because of the light color, so I decided it was a time for a new one. I am so glad that I got black because these bags are so durable it's crazy (I've spilled in mine and dropped it so many times) and I think this one will last longer since it's a dark color.

Espadrilles are my new go to spring shoe! I just talked about this revelation on my Instagram. Spring shoes are so hard because it's not warm enough for sandals and too warm out for booties and that used to be all I wore! Espadrilles are the perfect in between and couldn't be cuter! I love these ones because of the nude color (they go with everything) and the tassels! Tassels make everything 10x cuter.

And that's everything!

Wow! It makes me so happy to be posting about fashion again! Keep your eyes peeled for more from me because summer fashion is one of my favorite seasons to dress for!
