The Key to Wearing the Pom Pom Trend
The pompom trend has been popping up everywhere and I am OBSESSED! Pompoms add extra visual interest to a garment and definitely up the cuteness factor of whatever you are wearing! I first saw this trend pop up when I watched the Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear show and fell in love. However, some pom pom looks are a little too crazy and crafty for me. So, I made it my mission to find the perfect pompomed outfit that that didn't make me look like an arts and crafts project.
I did it! I found this dress and I am so excited about it! It couldn't have been cheaper and, personally, I don't think that it could be any cuter.
First of all, off the shoulder anything is my favorite. But, I've found through my off the shoulder journey that some can be pretty uncomfortable. I have bought tops that have been so uncomfortable that I felt like I was in a Strait jacket (the things I do for fashion). If the elastic band is too tight, you can't even move your arms. However, this dress is so comfortable AND I have a full range of motion. Don't worry about the flowiness of this dress because the vertical stripes are super sliming! Since it is a little on the baggier side it is also so comfy! Also, I think that my pom pom dress would look amazing on anyone! Can you tell that I am in love with it?
I paired my pompom dress with my sandals of the summer and I put on my go to Ray Bans when it got sunny out. You can probably tell from my Instagram and my outfit posts that those sandals and sunnies have been my life lately; I never leave the house without them! This outfit was so perfect for a hot and sunny summer day! I can really see myself wearing it anywhere: cruising through the farmer's market, sight seeing this summer, or out for a little lunch.
The pom pom fun does not stop with just this dress! I have picked out some of my favorite pom pom looks for you all, incase you are loving the pom pom trend as much as I am!
The key to wearing the pom pom trend is picking one statement piece. Is it going to be your top? Clutch? Earrings? You have to pick one. In the Dolce & Gabbana show, some of the models wore a pom pom dress, purse, and other pom pom accessories all in one outfit. This is show stopping on the runway, but wayyyy to crazy for the everyday wear. By picking one pom pom piece, everyone will ask you where you got your outfit, instead of where did you make it!
