Easy Breezy Summertime Outfit
Summer is coming and I am definitely ready! Beach days, ice cream cones, chasing sunsets with my friends —those are my type of days! I have been so sick of the weather here in New England; it's been so ridiculously cold. As of June 21, it will be officially summer, and I am hoping that it will stay sunny and 75 (at least most of the time).
Now that the weather is getting warmer (hopefully), I have to think about how to stay cool, while still looking cute. One of my favorite ways to do this is with a maxi dress! When maxi dresses first came back into fashion, I was not a fan. I thought that they would make me look shorter than I already am (I'm only 5'4") and would make my legs hot, since they would be covered. But, once I finally bought my first maxi dress after some convincing from my mom, I realized my assumptions were wrong. The maxi dress made me look taller (come on, tell me I look taller than 5'4" in the first picture!) and it kept me so cool on hot days! I also loved that I could do things in my maxi dress that I couldn't in the short dresses I usually wore, like bend over. Not to mention, they are so comfortable!
Maxi dresses should be a summer staple in your wardrobe because they are a lifesaver! They are such an easy "throw on" that you can throw on and go literally anywhere in. Since this maxi dress (similar one is linked) is black, I can mix in a bunch of different accessories to change up the look and it always looks like I am wearing a new outfit. I have worn this one with so many different colored earrings, bracelets, sandals, and scarves! Or for a super casual look, I could throw on this dress with my favorite Rainbow flip flops and run some errands around town. Cute, comfortable, and so easy!
On this occasion I was having dinner at a nice hotel, so I dressed my maxi up by pairing it with my go to Jack Rogers and turquoise Kate Spade earrings. My earrings were definitely the star of the show because of the color. I love wearing simple outfits, but then making them fun and interesting by adding a pop of color. I got these beauties a couple of years ago, but I will link some of my favorite pop of color earrings here! (Tap the picture to see all of the different options).
The Kendra Scott "Danielle" earrings are my favorite and I might have to add them into my shopping cart... Comment down below and tell me which ones are your favorite! Also, what are some of your go to pieces for summer?
Hope you all are staying cool this summer!
