Not Your 90s Chokers

Not Your 90s Chokers

Alright, I'll admit it: When I first saw chokers popping up again on the runways and then on my college campus, I swore I would never wear one. I thought they were just another silly fad and I refused to take part in it. To me, they looked uncomfortable. They are called 'chokers' after all and what part of that sounds desirable? They also gave me bad flashbacks to when I owned one back in kindergarten and wasn't so fashionable (I also wore dresses on top of pants and I'm really hoping that trend doesn't come back). It wasn't until this Christmas when I found a beautiful gold chain choker left by Santa (Mom) under the tree that I started to warm up to the idea of wearing chokers again. Gold chain chokers are dainty and look so beautiful on your neck. I'm telling you ladies, these are not your 90s chokers you used to wear!

You can find chokers, like these ones, in so many different stores because they are growing in popularity. They can be worn in so many different ways, ones with shiny jewels are elegant for a fancy night out and simple, barely there ones add a little something to the outfit you weren't sure what to accessorize with. I always love adding a little sparkle to my outfits and gold chain chokers do just the trick! The ones pictured above are from Francesca's and Nordstrom Rack. Right now Francesca's is offering 2 for $20 chokers and I took advantage of this promotion when I bought these ones! It was a steal because some of the chokers on this site retail without the sale for $22! Here are some of my favorites if you are looking to start your own choker collection (and you totally should!):
