Festive & Fab
Happy holidays everyone! I can't believe that Christmas is so soon! Honestly, I feel like Christmas time has just flown by and I wish it would slow down. As a college student, it doesn't truely feel like Christmastime until I finish finals and come home from school. If I started to watch Christmas movies and start my holiday shopping while I was still in school, lets just say my exams wouldn't go so well.
I am so excited to share this festive outfit with you all because it combines a bunch of my favorite pieces. I love dressing festively, just not over festive during the holiday season. It makes me smile and I just think that it is so fun. But if I wore a super festive outfit everyday during the holiday season, people might think that I am a little crazy. So this is my way of dressing in the holiday spirit, while looking chic and fab at the same time.
This flannel (similar ones here & here) does just that perfectly. I wore this outfit around town all day and everyone told me that my flannel was so perfect for Christmas time! It is also the perfect casual and cozy shirt to wear all winter long, so I would definitely recommend having a few flannels in your wardrobe! They will keep you warm and can be dressed up and down, so they are the perfect staple piece!
I cannot express to you all how much I love my faux fur vest. I wear it so often during the winter and it is a for sure compliment catcher! If you are a fashionista, like me, you need one because it is a piece that everyone loves, but not everyone would wear themselves so it makes you stand out in the crowd. That is what I like to do at least :) I got this one at Target a few years ago for a steal, but this is a similar one.
One of my other go to pieces for the winter, or basically anytime for that matter, is my Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac cross body. It is the perfect small size with just enough room for a wallet, keys, phone, sunglasses, and some lipsticks. I asked for a cardholder for Christmas to maximize my space even more and to be able to hold my Passport in my super cute case (hint hint I am going to be needing that very soon, stay tuned)! I feel like a lot of people might see this bag and think that it is too small, but it fits all of the necessities and it keeps me from having a cluttered purse. When I take a bigger bag, like my Longchamp tote, I fill it with my life, and lets just say my life gets heavy. I also love all of the hardware on this bag because it adds a little bit of edge and shine to any outfit!
I love bags that have chain handles because I think they look fancy lol. Warning though, they can be very loud when you put them down! The other day I was out to lunch and I put my bag on the metal chair and about half the restaurant turned to look at me. Awkward at first, but I like having all eyes on me :)
My go to Gap jeans are a must have for any outfit! I love to cuff them when I wear them with booties.
Lets talk accessories because I am a strong believer that an outfit is incomplete without them. My gray Sam Edelman booties were one of the best fashion purchases this year. I bought them kind of on a whim, but I am so happy that I did because they go with everything. They are just the perfect bootie, (suede, heel height, etc.) and they are the type of piece that I would purchase in every color if I could find them again! Here are some similar ones: here & here (both on sale)!
These earrings add the perfect touch of sparkle. I wear these literally everyday! J.Crew and J.Crew Factory have awesome stud earrings that are both affordable and good quality. My sunglasses are from Steve Madden and I usually stick to my Ran Ban aviators, but I was feeling like wearing something a little more funky on this particular day.
I think that is just about everything right?
I hope this post gave you a little inspiration about how to dress festive, while still looking fab! I would love to hear your feed back in the comments section below!
Merry Christmas everyone!
